The Zap showing is located near the extreme south eastern shore of Merrill Lake.

The area is underlain by Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation amygdaloidal andesites and basalts.

Disseminated knots of chalcopyrite and bornite are contained within a silicified coarse agglomerate unit. It is exposed for over 24 metres in two trenches. Grab samples from this zone assayed 3 per cent copper (Assessment Report 3705).

In 1971, Almaza Minerals completed a program of geological mapping, soil sampling and a ground magnetometer survey on the area as the Win, Zap and Lark claims.
